Have you been to the Jane Salzano Center for Autism (JSCA)?
Phase 1 of this model facility opened its doors in October, 2004 in Montgomery Village, Maryland. Until that time, most CSAAC staff were housed at 751 Twinbrook Parkway, a converted, old, former middle-school building rented from Montgomery County. Now, that facility houses our vocational program, with all other administrative and some program staff working and thriving at the JSCA in a modern and functional space.
Thanks to generous funding from the State of Maryland, our dream of realizing our model autism center is coming to fruition. Phases 2 and 3 of the construction have begun. When completed in mid-2008, the facility will house a world-class training center for adults with autism, CSAAC staff, and professionals from other agencies, as well as an autism library, a multipurpose room, and much more.
Won’t you help us meet our requirement for matching funds? Anyone can buy a brick ($250) or a bench ($1,000) in the name of an entire family, as a memorial designation for a loved one, in honor of a family member with autism, or even in honor of a caring sibling, parent, or grandparent. Highly visible naming opportunities are also still available for 1 wing, several sections (pods), the Board Room, the Autism Library, individual offices and common areas. Contact us at 240-912-2256 to learn more.
