Individuals in CSAAC’s vocational program are riding in style aboard two new buses purchased by CSAAC to transport them from work to home. The purchase supports CSAAC’s transition from using vans and encourages those in its program to learn the ins and outs of using a bus service, lending to CSAAC’s mission of enabling individuals with autism to achieve their highest potential and contribute as confident individuals to their community.
Sporting a large replica of CSAAC’s new logo, the buses run in the morning and evenings, maneuvering two routes to pick up CSAAC individuals from home and take them to work, and vice versa. They are also used for weekly leisure activities and outings—and other vacation spots through the year—including an annual trip to Ocean City, MD, where CSAAC owns a home, this summer.
The private buses are air conditioned and accommodate 25 passengers. A thank-you to Arnie Tunis at Chesapeake Bus Company for his direction in making the purchase.
