On June 23, 2006, CSAAC held an Emergency Preparedness Focus Group for Special Needs Providers in Montgomery County. The focus group was convened to identify local organizations serving at risk individuals, and foster dialogue among Montgomery County agencies in an effort to assess and develop Emergency Preparedness strategies. CSAAC's Assistant Director for Residential Facilities, Veronica Brown and Assistant Director for Transportation, Chris Drayton organized this important discussion that brought twelve special needs service providers to the event. On hand to speak to the group was Miguel Ascarrunz, Montgomery County Homeland Security; Barbara Fay, Emergency Planner for MD Department of Disabilities; and Peter DeFries, Assistant Director of Operations for the Developmental Disabilities Administration.
