Through
its Supported Employment program, CSAAC creatively matches
individuals with job opportunities while under the
supervision of a job coach. Two of our individuals work
alongside CSAAC administrative staff each day at the new
Jane Salzano Center for Autism. Javier is our front-desk
receptionist, where he answers phones, pages employees,
schedules meetings, and greets visitors. Xavier, our office
porter, prepares photo copies, and assists with
administrative and housekeeping tasks, as needed. The
in-house employment experience is enriching for both Javier
and Xavier, and provides an opportunity for visitors and
guests to witness first-hand the quality of CSAAC’s
service and the commitment to the individuals it supports.
Our hope is that one day both of these talented individuals
will have full-time employment elsewhere. CSAAC continues
to develop a vocational path for individuals to learn and
earn, and will continue to launch programs that improve
individuals’ self-esteem, offering a sense of pride for both
them and their families, enabling them to give back to their
communities. Currently, CSAAC individuals are employed with
over 30 county employees, including The Gazette, TJ
Maxx, and Todd Allen Printing.
Calling all employers! Help CSAAC continue its commitment of pairing the individuals it serves with local jobs. If there are opportunities for employment at your business and you are motivated to make a difference in someone’s life, please contact John Solyst, Supported Employment, CSAAC, at 301-762-1650 or send email now.
