Graduation Day at the Community School of Maryland

On June 29, 2007, commencement exercises were held for the following graduates of the Community School of Maryland: Evan B, Scott G, Ike O, and Andrew T.  Parents, families, friends, and classmates celebrated this milestone with the graduates.  Jane Salzano, CSAAC Founder; Ian Paregol, Executive Director; Dr. Marcia Smith, Assistant Executive Director; and Jennifer Hay, Montgomery County Public Schools Placement Specialist, were among the honored guests.  Faculty, related service providers, school coordinators, and the residential coordinator also attended.  The keynote address was given by Mrs. Lucia Claster, founder and coordinator of ASIS, a support group for parents and families of individuals with autism spectrum disorders.  The graduates acknowledged the support of their teachers, administrators, and assistants by signing “thank you.”  They acknowledged the support of their parents by giving their mothers a single, long-stemmed rose, and their fathers a boutonniere. Certificates of Completion were awarded by Executive Director, Ian Paregol.  After the ceremony, graduates, family members, distinguished guests and faculty enjoyed a reception to further honor the accomplishments of the graduating class.  Congratulations Class of 2007!
